X-Force: Negative Training Made Easy

Negative training has always been popular as a concept. However, X-Force’s machines make it easy for you to actually put more emphasis on the negative part of a weight lifting repetition than on the positive.

Basically, when you push, the weight stack is shifted to an angle that makes it easier to lift. Then, when you reach the limit of your motion and start to let the weight come back toward your body, the weight stack shifts upright add more weight. It’s a sensible way to focus on the negative part of your weight training routine.

War Machine by CrossCore

Body-weight exercises were certainly a trend at IHRSA 2010. Thankfully, it looks like we’ll be seeing more of them at IHRSA30 in San Francisco.

This video takes us through an intense workout on the War Machine (great name, by the way) by CrossCore. You’ll see some traditional suspension exercises as well as some creative uses, like attaching kettlebells and using the suspension equipment as a pulley system.
